spiceNew Delhi, Thursday, August 13 – Spices are generally not considered healthy. But a recent study nullifies this old thought. It mentioned that limited use of spices not only adds a zing in taste but is also healthy.

One table of fenugreek seeds with water helps in digesting food properly and so is asafetida. There are several other things that work as digestive aid. Mustard & cumin seeds, nutmeg powder, turmeric, black pepper, coriander seeds, dried ginger, cloves, peppercorns, cardamom, and star anise have their own health benefits.

Thymes, sage, rosemary, caraway, coriander seeds & leaves, chili and bay leaves are good when incorporated in small amount in dry or curry vegetables. “To change the normal flavor, these should be used in pulses, increasing the taste and nutritional quotient,” said the researchers who before winding up conversation forced on consuming as much fresh spices as possible.
