new zealandNew Delhi, Tuesday, June 16 – New Zealand eye series win in 4th One-Day International match, which is lined up to take place at Trent Bridge, Nottingham,  on Wednesday, June 17. The Black Caps are leading the series by 2-1 in the five-match ODI series by defeating England on the home turf by 13 runs at Kennington Oval in London and 3 wickets at the Rose Bowl, Southampton.

It has been said right that good things come to those who wait. And the Kiwis waited, may be a bit impatiently, after facing humiliating defeat in the first ODI. However, they are once again with a game with a bang. With 2 wins, morale of the guests is high. They had a good reply for the 210 run-defeat inflicted by the English cricketers in the first face-off in their bag and answered perfectly by logging back to back wins.

Unquestionably, New Zealand have emerged as a strong team in 50-50 over matches post World Cup 2015, wherein they reached up to the grand finale. It was extremely unfortunate that they did not win the winner’s title thanks to below average show on the field. But it happens in the game of cricket. Otherwise who can forget their win in the first semi-final in opposition to South African squad, who were looking forward to mark an entry in the last blow and fight for trophy through immaculate show through batting, bowling and fielding.

It is true that at the end of the day, only one team is going to win and it was the day of Kiwis, who chased the target in a nail-biting contest. The result could have been different had some catches weren’t dropped by the Proteas. If the final outcome is left then it was one of the finest matches in the history of cricket that demonstrated how teammates of the winning side could understand the sentiments of the rivals that missed the chance of being in the finale by an inch, comfort each other and praise the efforts poured by all members to play as a unit.

Despite the fact that the Brendon McCullum’s men did not win against Australia, they won millions of hearts for carrying the positive side throughout the tournament. And now when they are in England to play 5-match ODI series, attention is paid on how to seal a win in the upcoming game that is to held tomorrow. If truth be told then the stadium is gonna be jam-packed with enthusiastic crowd being set to support the home side.

Encounter on Wednesday is anticipated to catch the eyes given that it will make England to equalize the series and increase the chances of lifting the trophy in the last ODI. While on the other hand, it will refill new energy among the ‘playing XI’ of Black Caps if victory inclines towards them at the end of the day. The need for lead has automatically shifted the psychological pressure on the losing party but playing under stress might not bring desired consequence for the hosting country.

Toss will be crucial as the one who wins will get an added advantage of making a decision either to pick batting or bowling first. Pitch conditions were considered to have supported England but Kiwis made best use of it. One point is clear that whoever wins or loses is a different matter, the thing that would matter will be hundred percent inputs by both the teams.

English cricketers have the ability to bounce back and in cricket, which is the most uncertain sport of all the time, one can’t predict actually who will win the match, surprising experts and cricket fans. Preparations to hold the competition is in full swings at Trent Bridge, which is expected to be occupied mostly by the countrymen to back England. With one more day to go for the match to start, speculations about potential winners are keeping viewers busy.
