fireNew Delhi, Friday, December 30 – Post getting much comfort under the sun for more than a few days in December, which is considered one of the months in which wintriness peaks, Delhi people should get all set for colder days ahead since only a little sign of relief is probable today.

Sky remained covered with fog blanket early on Friday, almost nullifying possibility of witnessing the sunshine, which if appear later on or in the coming days will miss intensity that is a key to bring huge relief for the general public and other living creatures. The bone-chilling cold got augmented when fog appeared prior to the dawn.

Most of the people chose to stay inside to stay away from biting winter conditions as much as possible. The number of absenteeism in the schools and offices is to be higher than now. Owing to bad weather, several parents did not send their young ones to the educational institutes. Various schools have already declared winter vacation from January 1 to January 10.

Traffic jams in the peak hours were also observed at some streets. This made office goers reach a tad late at the work place, affecting the normal schedule. The picture is to remain common for some time as fog will carry on lowering the visibility. The movement of cars, buses, trains etc. is to slow down in the coming weeks as changing weather in the mountains is to have a tad effect on the national capital regions too. Dropping mercury is bringing huge discomfort of the populace with no proper means to avoid the attack of cold waves. There are scores of people who do not have proper winter clothes to protect themselves from icy weather.

Efforts are expected to be made by the government and authorities to offer shelter to everyone. It is tough to make it turn out feasible since hundreds of thousands of residents are homeless and have no place to reside other than to form temporary shelter in the roadside or under the bridge. According to the recent weather reports, the city will shiver during the remaining two days of December and early January as maximum and minimum temperatures are will drop considerably.

Not only this, weekend is going to chilly since pace of the gust will go be 11 km per hour. Those who still feel that a ceiling on the wintry climate will be put by plenty of sunshine are going to be disappointed as only hazy sun can be seen for a few hours. Given that fog might not lift earlier than expected, cold feel is to gain foothold early next month. The sudden drop in mercury is also likely to reduce traffic on roads during holidays. However, same can’t be said for New Year Eve and New Year in view of the fact that residents love to visit various places of the city to be a part of celebration and give glance to the way beauty of malls, restaurants, gardens etc. is highlighted.
