broad1New Delhi, Monday, November 7 – The Indian cricketers are getting all set to gather runs in speed when they contest against England after a couple of days. The opening Test is to be played at Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot from Wednesday, November 9.

Virat Kohli is to captain the Test side and must be looking forward to some more wins under his captaincy. Ravichandran Ashwin, Murali Vijay, Ravindra Jadeja, Gautam Gambhir, Amit Mishra, Mohammed Shami, Karun Nair, Hardik Pandya, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, Jayant Yadav, Umesh Yadav, Wriddhiman Saha and Ishant Sharma are the parts of the longest format game and would eye place in the team that is to compete in opposition to England.

On the other hand, the Test team of England will hope for better start having Alastair Cook as the skipper. Expectations will be up from Zafar Ansari, Jonny Bairstow, Jake Ball, Moeen Ali, Gary Ballance, Gareth Batty, Stuart Broad, Steven Finn, Adil Rashid, Joe Root, Ben Stokes, Chris Woakes, Haseeb Hameed Jos Buttler and Ben Duckett. Lead will be eyed in the 1st Test to think about strong performances in the second, third, fourth and fifth Tests which are to be played at Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam from November 17 to November 21, Punjab Cricket Association Stadium in Mohali from November 26 to November 30, Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai from December 8 to December 12 and MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai from December 16 to December 20, respectively.

If truth be told then the Kohli’s men are looking forward to the series against England with poise thanks to the confidence earned during lately concluded series against New Zealand. Kiwis tour of India wasn’t good for them, losing Test series 0-3 and ODI 2-3. England’s stay in the country is going to be long as the last match will be played on February 1. With three ODIs and T20 matches, apart from five Tests between England and Indian cricket team, those who are going to benefit with enormous entertainment are the audiences. The venues selected for 50-50 over matches are Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune, Barabati Stadium in Cuttack and Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Besides this, T20 International matches will be hosted at Green Park in Kanpur, Vidarbha Cricket Association Ground in Nagpur and M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. With some seen and unseen challenges, both teams will hope for putting best foot forward. Performing better on different wicket will be prime objective. To stay in form, scoring runs and taking wickets will be imperative for batsmen and bowlers. If a glance is given on the statistic then Sachin Tendulkar – the God of Cricket – tops the category of players with most runs in all series. In a similar way, Bhagwath Chandrasekhar of India leads the category with player having most wickets when two countries contested. Names are different in the groups of players with highest individual score, most tons, most half-centuries, most boundaries and biggies, best bowling figures, best economy and maximum five-wicket hauls.

Players that are selected for England and India series will have to give their best to find their names in the aforementioned categories. Mood of deliveries may differ as soon as the track changes. India are capable of performing in stressful conditions. Throwing wickets at low score would be something not expected from the key players. The positive result of playing as a unit has been witnessed by the Indian team. If truth be told then it is their strength. Stadium on the first day of 1st Test may not get jam-packed but if the match is played for the entire five days, picture on the cricket ground may differ.  With only some time remaining for the match to begin, hopes for inflicting humiliating defeat on the opponents from team India is high. What comes next will be a key thing to observe.
