rain in delhi1New Delhi, Monday, August 11 – Sky has been cloudy from past few days but most of the time people were disappointed to witness less rain, which hardly lasted only for a few minutes. However, the keen wait for good rainfall came to an end on Sunday when the entire country was enjoying the Raksha Bandhan festival.

People on the earlier day woke up to a pleasant morning. Rain prediction seemed stronger thanks to darker clouds which completely covered the blue sky just a tad prior to the noontime. Precipitation in the national capital came at a time when a lot of people were on the way to reach particular locations in order to celebrate the holy festival. The weather was enjoyed mostly by the people who had to stay at their residences. Those who came out from their homes to visit their siblings faced the real trouble due to massive traffic jams and waterlogged streets.

Commuting turned a big problem for the residents who were on the way to reach Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurgaon and other parts of Delhi. Heavy downpour of the season that lasted for more than a couple of hours almost dampened the spirit of the annual festival but inhabitants tried their best not to be afflicted by the unexpected showers. Vehicles crawled during the mid-day that made commuters reach at different locations a bit late.

Temperature in Delhi is likely to remain low for the entire week. Prediction of rain remains for today as well but it is probable to stay sporadic through the entire day. 30 percent rainfall is probable to be observed today, while there is no escape from humidity, which will be 53 percent. If showers keep the city wet for some more days then people may have a slight breather from a long spell of warm and humid climatic conditions. No sign of rain is visible in the upcoming three days but it may lash the city once again during the weekend.
