Haryana to host National eGovernance Conference

Department of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of Haryana and Elets Technomedia are hosting a two-days national conference on egovernance, eHaryana, at Chandigarh, on 7-8 February 2014.

Haryana’s Department of Electronics and Information Technology, and Elets Technomedia are hosting a two-days national conference on egovernance, eHaryana, at UT Guest House, Chandigarh, India, on 7-8 February 2014.

To be inaugurated by Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, the two day forum will have key representatives from all areas of governance and the ICT industry getting together for deliberations on e-delivery of services to citizens.

The objective of e-Haryana is to generate knowledge on deploying ICTs for bringing more efficiency and transparency in the process of governance and service delivery to the people, as well as a platform to share knowledge on various e-governance initiatives launched by various states in the country, including Haryana.

With the National e-Governance Plan giving a sustained impetus, India has seen rapid growth in the coverage of electronic citizen services delivery through rural and urban Common Service Centers; and through computerized systems.

The state of Haryana’s pilot project Integrated Village Information & Services System (IVISS), would also be discussed at the Conference after which a state-wide rollout would be planned.

Senior government representatives from various state governments including Andhra Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Union Territory of Chandigarh would be sharing their egovernance case studies at eHaryana, besides that from various service providers and consultants like Ernst & Young, Accenture, Ricoh India, United Health Group, and Wipro Infotech. 

Amongst those who will be present at the inaugural include J. Satyanarayana, Secretary, Electronics & Information Technology, Government of India, and Government of Haryana’s Advisor (Development & Governance Reforms) P K Chaudhery, Chief Secretary S C Choudhary and Additional Chief Secretary, Electronics & Information Technology Y S Malik.
