Exciting India, Sri Lanka Opening Match in Cuttack to Grab Eyeballs

ravindraNew Delhi, Friday, October 31 – In the midst of good gathering, India and Sri Lanka are almost ready to seize the opportunity in the opening One-Day International match, which is to take place this Sunday, November 2, in Cuttack. Indian team which is in huge phase of transformation is expected to put up the solid show on the field under the captaincy of Virat Kohli, who is though not as cool as like Mahendra Singh Dhoni but has the potency to lead a blend of experienced and non-experienced players, for first three one-dayers.

The upcoming series will give the 25-year-old Delhi boy to show his skills as the captain as well. Instead of being a good batsman, he has the potential to motivate teammates to put their best foot forward. The 5-match ODI series, which is slated to take place at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack, Sardar Patel Stadium in Motera, Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, Eden Gardens in Kolkata and JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi on Nov 2, 6, 9, 13 and 16 , respectively, would ask every player to pour his hundred percent efforts if he really wishes to change the entire game by both individual and team performance.

Challenges are not going to be any less for Wriddhiman Saha, Shikhar Dhawan, Ajinkya Rahane, Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu, Ravichandran Ashwin, Murali Vijay, Varun Aaron, Akshar Patel, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav, Ishant Sharma and Amit Mishra. But the hopes of witnessing good contest are up for the reason that all of them are likely to leave no stone untunrned to stand out and book a permanent place in the ‘playing XI’. Triumph is certainly the key goal in sporting endeavor, but what if some of the key cricketers are missed during an important series. Since Lasith Malinga and Rangana Herath wouldn’t be giving their services to Sri Lanka in the tour of India, the guest remains on a little bit weaker side. Without a doubt, both the squads seem to be standing almost on the same spot somehow or the other.

The interest of cricket viewers slightly dampened when West Indies hastily quit tour of India in the middle a few days ago due to pay dispute with the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB). It is not at all easy for the organizers to sell the tickets for next tournament if something like this has happened lately. However, things turn a bit easy in India in view of the fact that the people are crazy for cricket. The excitement level may soar with each passing day since it is probably the biggest contest for both India and Sri Lanka prior flying to Australia and New Zealand for the grand show in Cricket World Cup 2015.

A different kind of bounce at Nelson, Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Hobart, Melbourne, Perth, Napier, Wellington, Dunedin, Hamilton, Auckland and Christchurch is supposed to surprise both bowlers and batsmen in the cricket carnival. Whatever teams learn in the series that are to held before February 2015 is would help them work on their mistakes and fix them as soon as possible. As just a couple of days remain for India & Sri Lanka series to start, the audiences wait for strong competition among the two countries over batting, bowling and fielding capabilities. Let us wait and watch who nails it this time.
