Do Audiences Actually Look Forward to Watch Good Bollywood Movies?

October 30

kick New Delhi, Thursday, October 30 – Some of the lately released movies have joined the bandwagon of 100 crore club. Several films by different directors hit theatres across the nation every Friday. Filmmakers eye to release their films during festivals as the probability of fetching attention of the cine buffs at that time is higher as compared to any other week thanks to the big lineup of holidays.

Aamir Khan’s ‘Dhoom 3’, Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Krrish 3’, Salman Khan starrer ‘Kick’, ‘Dabangg 2’ & Ek Tha Tiger, ‘Chennai Express’ featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, Hrithik and Katrina Kaif starrer ‘Bang Bang’, Ajay Devgn’s ‘Singham Returns’ and star studded ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ earned more than 100 crore within short span of time. Definitely, success of the film is the success of the viewers.

It is true that not just the actors but the people behind camera pour a lot of efforts to make their movie a super hit. The reason behind including peppy numbers and soulful music is to let viewers remember the name of a particular film for a longtime. But swear your heart, do the films of this day and age really please you enough to enjoy it with family and friends? ‘We don’t have any other option in front of us that is why we are here to see ‘XYZ’ film with family, said a movie lover who turned up at cinema hall for availing full-on fun during the weekend. Some years ago, films were released in a few theatres. However, scenario is completely changed today. The same job is done in 3000 to 4000 halls!

If truth be told, Bollywood movies seem to be lacking good storyline. This is quite annoying that film directors are paying a lot of attention to item songs and not the concept. The films like Abhimaan, Chhoti si Baat, Khubsoorat, Awara, Madhumati, Mother India, Sholay, Chupke Chupke, Anand, Satte Pe Satta, Gol Maal, Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron, Amar Akbar Anthony, Kabhi Kabhi, Muqaddar Ka Sikandar, Saaransh etc. are yet seen whenever shown on various TV channels and that too, with huge curiosity. Despite watching these movies repeatedly, one doesn’t get bored thanks to powerful and gripping script. Perhaps the time has come when young talents need to concentrate on making good movies as well that could be fresh in everyone’s mind even after several decades otherwise it wouldn’t be wrong to say that coming generations would only prefer to see hardly some films of the present era. Before it is too late, writers should make efforts to bounce back and give viewers a laudable subject to watch.
